Greta Gerwig and Noah Baumbach Join Margot Robbie’s Produced Barbie

The upcoming BarbieĀ film is getting an indie touch!

Greta Gerwig and Noah Baumbach, are set to tackle Barbie, Warner Bros.’ big-screen take on the Mattel toy icon. Gerwig and Baumbach will write the script, with Gerwig, who last directed the Academy Award-nominated Lady Bird, may be in line to direct the film.

Margot Robbie will star and is also producing the project via her LuckyChap production company, along with Mattel Films’ Robbie Brenner.

A Barbie live-action feature has been in the works since 2018, with Amy Schumer then Anne Hathaway attached to star and Alethea Jones directing.
