Gemma Chan Joins Brie Larson in Captain Marvel

Gemma Chan is headed to the MCU!

The star of Humans, has joined Brie Larson in the upcoming female led Captain Marvel. The news which was first broken by The Hollywood Reporter, has Chan joining the film right before shooting commences next month.

The directors of Mississippi Grind Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck will be directing the film that is set in the 1990s and tells the story of Carol Danvers (Larson), an Air Force pilot whose DNA fuses with that of an alien, transforming as the previously mentioned Captain Marvel. The film is an important one for Marvel as it is the studios first female-led film.

Chan will play Captain Minnerva, who is from the race Kree and is one of Captain Marvel’s villains in the comics.
