First Look At Diana Prince in Wonder Woman 1984 Calls Back to 1960’s Comic Run

After footage of Wonder Woman 1984 was revealed at last months Cinemacon, the first look at Diana Prince for the upcoming film was released. Director Patty Jenkins shared the image of a Gadot from the upcoming follow-up to 2017 Wonder Woman on Twitter, in a message celebrating the actor’s birthday.

The  all-white ensemble is not entirely distant from her known look as it calls back to controversial era of comics in the late 1960s when Diana lost her powers and became a mod-inspired martial artist for a number of years. The run in the comics lasted from Wonder Woman No. 178 through No. 204. The run has since been compiled and released in a four-volume series called Diana Prince: Wonder Woman.

Wonder Woman 1984 will be released on June 5th, 2020.
