Empire Leads Typical Wednesday Night On FOX

It was an Empire-led Wednesday night with the FOX drama winning a typical Wednesday that was pretty much business as usual for the other networks.

On FOX, Empire hit a 1.6 demo rating in the 18-49 demo and 5.03 million viewers. The series was up two tenths after taking a week off last week. Star held steady with a 1.1 demo rating and 3.67 million viewers.

On ABC, The Goldbergs (1.2, 4.96 million viewers), American Housewife (1.0, 4.36 million viewers), Modern Family (1.3, 4.82 million viewers), and Single Parents (0.9, 3.40 million viewers) returned from a 2-week break, all down a tenth from their last episodes. A Million Little Things, however, was back up from its previous 0.7 to a 0.8 demo score and 3.47 million viewers.

On The CW, Riverdale came back from a week off with a 0.4 demo rating and 1.27 million viewers, steady with its last episode’s 0.4, and All American scored a 0.3 demo score and 777,000 viewers for the fourth episode in a row.

On NBC, the network’s annual Christmas in Rockefeller Center special posted a 1.3 rating and 8.38 million viewers, making it one of the night’s highest-rated broadcasts, despite being down four-tenths from the 1.7 it had scored in 2017. A Legendary Christmas with John and Chrissy followed it at 10 p.m. and raked in a 0.8 demo rating with 4.35 million viewers.

On CBS,  2-hour Survivor (1.6, 7.56 million viewers) grew three-tenths from last Wednesday and tied Empire for the night in the 18-49 demo.
