Director S.J. Clarkson Developing Female-Led Marvel Movie At Sony Pictures

Sony Pictures has tapped director S.J. Clarkson to develop a female-led Marvel movie at the studio. This is reportedly not related to the recently announced Jackpot movie being written by Marc Guggenheim and is rumored to be a Madame Web adaptation, thus making it a part of their growing universe of Marvel characters.

Currently, no writer or star is attached, and the Madame Web tidbit is mere speculation at this point. The reason for the speculation is that Sony did announce last September that a Madame Web movie was in the works. At the time, Morbius writers Matt Sazama and Burk Sharpless were set to write the project but Clarkson’s unknown film doesn’t have a writer attached so it’s not officially known what property Clarkson will be taking on.

Clarkson is no stranger to the Marvel world having directed episodes for Jessica Jones and The Defenders.
