Well, this is not a film I ever envisioned coming to fruition. During last year’s Michael Jordan’s The Last Dance, it was revealed that while Chicago Bulls were on the verge of completing their second three-peat in eight years at the NBA Finals, and that’s when Dennis Rodman told coach Phil Jackson that he needed 48 hours in Vegas.
On Monday, Lionsgate announced that they will be bringing Dennis Rodman’s adventure in Sin City to the big screen with 48 Hours in Vegas, a feature film produced by Phil Lord and Christopher Miller. The film will take audiences on
“Rodman’s madcap adventure with his skittish assistant GM and will detail a budding friendship that neither one of them ever thought was possible but will end up solving both of the problems.”
In a statement, Lord and Miller said:
Dennis refused to follow the herd. That is what made him a target and it’s also what made him a star. His weekend in Las Vegas is full of fun and hijinks but it is also full of important questions about the way public figures, and workers are treated, especially when their individuality is expressed so vividly.
