Harry Styles Passes on Little Mermaid Role

Harry Styles will not part of our world for Disney’s live-action Little Mermaid.

First reported by The Hollywood Reporter, the Dunkirk actor is no longer in talks to play Prince Eric in the Rob Marshall-directed musical.

Grown-ish actress Halle Bailey will play Ariel, with Melissa McCarthy playing Ursula, Jacob Tremblay voicing Flounder and Awkwafina voicing Scuttle.

Lin-Manuel Miranda is slated to work on the music for the film.

Styles made his feature acting debut in Christopher Nolan’s WWII epic, and was recently in consideration to play Elvis in Baz Luhrman’s movie musical
