Child’s Play Remake Release Date And New Poster Revealed

The Child’s Play remake is happening whether we want it or not and Orion Pictures have revealed the film’s release date and new poster art for their new take on an old classic.

Chucky will return to the big screen on June 21, 2019. If that date sounds familiar it’s because Toy Story 4 also opens on that date so you have your choice of seeing a film with warm and funny toys or a film with a killer doll. Choices are fun, my friends.

Child’s Play follows a mother (played by Aubrey Plaza) who gives her son (played by Gabriel Bateman) a toy doll for his birthday unaware of its more sinister nature. The cast also includes Beatrice Kitsos, Ty Consiglio & Brian Tyree Henry. Lars Klevberg takes on directing duty while original Child’s Play creator, Don Mancini, has no involvement with the reboot and is actually developing more Child’s Play films and a TV show that is unrelated to this reboot.

The official poster art has also been released, unveiling the brand new “Buddi” doll, a new take on Chucky that brings him into a whole new generation. The poster art can be seen below:
