Brahms: The Boy II (Official Trailer)

The first trailer for Brahms: The Boy II has arrived and it’s looking to solidify its position in the pantheon of creepy doll movies.

Brahms: The Boy II was slated to be released summer of 2019 but the releases of movies like Child’s Play and Annabelle Comes Home made for a crowded field of films featuring potentially killer dolls. The film was moved to February 21 and now the marketing train is ready to take off.

The film is set to revolve around a young family, unaware of the terrifying history of the estate into which they move, where their young son soon makes an unsettling new friend, an eerily life-like doll he calls Brahms. In the original film, Greta (Lauren Cohan) is a young American woman who takes a job as a nanny in a remote English village. She soon discovers that the family’s 8-year-old is a life-sized doll that they care for just like a real boy, as a way to cope with the death of their son 20 years prior. After violating a list of strict rules, a series of disturbing and inexplicable events bring Greta’s worst nightmare to life, leading her to believe the doll is actually alive.

The sequel, which stars Katie Holmes, is a followup to The Boy which became a surprise hit in 2016 when it managed to turn a significant profit, earning $74.1 million worldwide on a reported budget of $10 million. The sequel sees the return of director William Brent Bell from a script by Stacey Menear, who also wrote the original.

Brahms: The Boy II hits screens on February 21.
