Avengers: Endgame Overtakes The Force Awakens Overseas

Avengers: Endgame is continuing its box office dominance around the world as it advances on another film to move up the all-time box office chart.

Due to the May Day holiday in most markets, Avengers: Endgame soared to $157.8 million at the international box office on Wednesday. The overseas total is now at $1,211.8M in just eight days of release. The total allows it to overtake Star Wars: The Force Awakens and Furious 7 to become the No. 4 highest-grossing movie of all time overseas. Globally, Endgame on Wednesday also topped F7 and The Avengers to land at No. 6 on the all-time worldwide chart.  The global total now stands at $1,664.1M and is expected to hit $2 billion worldwide by the end of the weekend.

Avengers: Endgame also became the top-grossing Hollywood movie ever in China on Wednesday, passing The Fate Of The Furious with $463 million (RMB 3.1B). Today, per Middle Kingdom estimates, the Anthony and Joe Russo-directed marvel crossed the $500 million mark, hitting about $510 million (RMB 3.43B) as of 10 PM there.
