ESPN and the 30 For 30 series have been known for providing some of the finest sports documentaries around. That was never truer then at 2017’s Academy Awards when the 6 hours documentary OJ: Made in America took home the Academy Award for Best Documentary Feature. Well ESPN films is looking to top that as they have announced a 30 for 30 special on the greatest basketball player who ever lived, Michael Jeffery Jordan.
The multi-part 10-hour documentary will be released next year and will be titled The Last Dance. The feature is expected to pull from 500 hour of never-before-seen-footage from the 1997-98 championship season.
The Last Dance will be directed by Jason Hehir, who is responsible for directing the recent, Andre the Giant for HBO and also 30 for 30 series, “The Fab Five” and “The ‘85 Bears.” What makes this news even better is that Jordan will take part in the documentary. 2019 can not come any faster!
