One of my all-time favorite guilty pleasures is the 1997’s made for tv film, Tower of Terror. The film starred Steve Guttenberg and Kirsten Dunst and has remained a Halloween staple since its release 24 years ago. Not it looks like we are getting a new version of the film and ride adaptation with an MCU alum at the center.
According to Collider, Academy Award nominee Scarlett Johansson is set to produce Disney’s Tower of Terror movie, which is being developed as a starring vehicle for the actress. For those unaware, the ride at Disney’s Hollywood Studios is named The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror and features a Rod Serling sound-alike who narrates as guests ride an elevator that culminates in a chilling free-fall drop.
While Plot details are being kept under wraps, but Inside Out screenwriter Josh Cooley is onboard to pen the script. No director is attached at the moment, but the Collider report says that Disney will “aim high” due to Johansson’s profile.
