Zoe Kravitz Cast As Catwoman In Matt Reeves’ The Batman

I must say that I’m enjoying Matt Reeves’ inspired casting choices for The Batman. First, he shocked the internet when he cast Robert Pattinson as Bruce Wayne/Batman & now he’s making another non-traditional choice for the role of Selina Kyle/Catwoman. It has been announced that Zoe Kravitz has landed the coveted role.

Kravitz, whose deal is officially closed, will follow the likes of Michelle Pfeiffer, Halle Berry & Anne Hathaway to play the role on film. On the TV side of things, the role was portrayed by Julie Newmar, Lee Meriwether, Eartha Kitt & Cameron Bicondova. The character first made her appearance as “The Cat” in Batman #1 in the spring of 1940.

Kravitz joins Robert Pattinson, Jeffrey Wright & Jonah Hill, who is in talks for a villain role. The Batman, directed by Matt Reeves, hits screens on June 25, 2021. Also, a fun fact! Kravitz provided the voice for Catwoman in The Lego Batman Movie. Perhaps this was meant to be.
