Wonder Woman has helped the DCEU break another wall down in their box office success. The DC Extended Universe has now earned $3 billion at the global box office.
The success of Wonder Woman has been noted before and is now the highest-grossing DC Extended Universe film at the domestic box office and this week, Diana Prince’s film helped the studio pass another benchmark that saw her working with Man of Steel, Batman V Superman and Suicide Squad, rather than being pitted against them.
The film which has earned over $700 million at this point did so despite opening lower than Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and being banned in certain countries due to star Gal Gadot’s ties to the Israeli military. This has shown that the film has not only held strong at the box office but also has rewatch value. Man of Steel earned $668 million worldwide, while Batman v Superman took home over $873 million and Suicide Squad managed $745 million. Wonder Woman currently sits at just under $714 million which helped in pushing the DCEU over 3 billion.
