Wonder Woman 1984 Heading To Theaters & HBO Max on Christmas Day

It’s official: Wonder Woman 1984 will see a release in theaters that are open on Christmas Day but will also stream on HBO Max the very same day. As the movie theater situation seems like it won’t be changing anytime soon & COVID-19 cases are surging nationwide, Warner Bros. seems to think this is the best way to move forward.

The sequel has seen its theatrical release date delayed several times amid the novel coronavirus pandemic. Originally, it was supposed to open in June but was then shifted to August & eventually October. Most recently, the plan was for a full-blown global theatrical rollout on December 25th. The studio seemed optimistic that things would be somewhat normal by then but this has simply not been the case.

Warner Bros. has to be a bit upset about the turn of events. The first film grossed $821.8 million worldwide and the hope was that the sequel would be a billion-dollar earner globally. Will this move prove lucrative? Some money will be made but a lot will be left on the table as well. HBO Max is certainly going to get a boost from this and at the end that does work for WarnerMedia. A huge film like this is likely to drive up subscriber traffic, especially after the news this week that the service would now be available on Amazon Fire TV.

  1. I’m impressed, I must say. Really rarely do I discover a web page that’s both educative and fulfiling, and let me tell you, you have hit the nail on the head. Your idea is marvelous ; the topic is something that not enough people are speaking intelligently about. I am very pleased that I happened across this. If you have a chance check out my site. It’s somewhat new, but I trust that someday it will be as popular as yours
