Will Smith Exiting Suicide Squad Sequel

We’re down one member of the Suicide Squad. It has been confirmed that Will Smith has exited Suicide Squad 2.

It looks like the reasons for the exit are peaceful and amicable. He wasn’t officially set to do the sequel, and it came down to scheduling in regards to his backing out. James Gunn is looking to start production in Atlanta in September.

No cast is set as of yet, but the plan here is to have Margot Robbie return in the signature role of Harley Quinn. She’s already reprising the Joker’s girlfriend in Cathy Yan’s Birds of Prey which is slated to open on February 7, 2020. There are also reports that James Gunn may want to do a soft reboot for the sequel and essentially start from scratch but no official choices have been made as of yet.
