Sarah Michelle Gellar Eyes Television Return In Other People’s Houses

Sarah Michelle Gellar could be making a television return. The Buffy the Vampire Slayer actress is tapped to lead and executive produce a dramedy in development at Fox called Other People’s Houses.

The series is based on the novel by Abbi Waxman and is described as a suburban dramedy centered on nine people who live in L.A.’s Larchmont Village neighborhood. Through the lens of social media, the characters navigate the emotional ups and downs of being parents, partners, neighbors, and friends.

Gellar is set to play one of the two women at the center of the neighborhood drama, a social media influencer named Anne Porter. The series reunites Gellar with Eric Charmelo and Nicole Snyder, who created her CW series Ringer. Should this show go to series, which already has a script commitment at Fox, it would be Gellar’s first regular TV role since CBS comedy The Crazy Ones in 2013-14.
