Whiskey Cavalier Gets American Idol Boost On Wednesday For ABC

After premiering a bit soft, Whiskey Cavalier got a bit of a boost airing after American Idol on Wednesday night.

On ABC, Whiskey Cavalier managed to tick up from its series premiere’s 0.7 last week to a 0.9 demo rating and 5.32 million viewers this time around. Notably, it is the first new broadcast drama of the season to improve in the 18-49 demo from its first to second episode. Starting out the night for ABC was American Idol, which hit a 1.4 average rating, down from the 1.7 its season premiere had scored this past Sunday. The singing competition series hit 7.80 million viewers.

On CBS, Survivor took the night’s no. 1 spot in the adults 18-49 demo and scored the same 1.5 rating that it did last Wednesday with a total of 7.26 million viewers. The World’s Best managed to rise from its previous 0.4 to a 0.6 demo score with 2.95 million viewers.

On The CW, Riverdale (0.3, 960,000 viewers) and All American (0.2, 580,000 viewers) matched their episodes from a week ago.

NBC aired reruns for the night.
