Upcoming Paranormal Activity Film Pushed Back One Year

Cinephiles’ journey into the world of Paranormal Activity has been put on pause. Back in November 2019,  it was announced that Paramount Pictures would be releasing a new entry in the Paranormal Activity franchise on March 19, 2021. However, because of the COVID-19 pandemic, the films release date has been pushed back a year and has moved to March 4, 2022.

While little is known about the upcoming entry, Jason Blum spoke to the folks at The Evolution of Horror and spoke about a potential writer of the film, “We have Chris Landon, who wrote almost all of them, he directed one of them, he’s really kind of the showrunner of the Paranormal Activity series, and he’s coming up with Paranormal Activity 7. Which is not the title of the movie, but it is the seventh Paranormal Activity.”

Outside of the first and third entries, I’ve never been a huge fan of the franchise, but I am in the minority as the franchise has developed a large fanbase that will be excited upon the next entries release.
