Fast & Furious 9 has just added a bit more muscle to its cast. It has been announced that UFC fighter Francis Ngannou is joining the ensemble.
Ngannou’s role is being kept under wraps but this isn’t the first time the franchise has cast a UFC star in a role. Gina Carano appeared in Fast & Furious 6 while Ronda Rousey got to show off her moves in a fight with Michelle Rodriguez in Furious 7.
Fans of UFC may know the fighter as Francis “The Predator” Ngannou. He’s #2 in the heavyweight division and most recently beat Junior dos Santos with a 71-second knockout, making Francis have the most UFC finishes in the heavyweight division. Francis won his previous fight with a 26-second knockout over MMA Legend and former UFC Heavyweight Champion Cain Velasquez in Phoenix Arizona on the UFC’s inaugural fight on ESPN.
Fast & Furious 9 brings Justin Lin back to the director’s chair and brings back Vin Diesel and crew for what’s sure to be a gravity-defying experience that is destined to take all of our money in the process.
Fast & Furious 9 hits screens May 22, 2020.
