Triple Frontier Back On Track With Ben Affleck & Oscar Isaac Headlining

Triple Frontier, which was the original working title for a film that has had a long road coming, is finally on the fast track at Netflix & has lined up an impressive cast of actors.

Ben Affleck, still on board despite the film being in limbo for so long, is heading the ensemble, along with Oscar Isaac, Charlie Hunnam, Pedro Pascal, Garrett Hedlund and Adria Arjona. The J.C. Chandor directed film is a prime example of a worthy script being good enough to not give up on. Affleck originally left this film to deal with personal issues and it originally co-starred his brother Casey Affleck & Mahershala Ali, fresh off their Oscar wins for Manchester by the Sea & Moonlight, respectively.

Casey & Ali backed on during the last scheduling conflict but Ben Affleck worked through his issues & remained on the project. Netflix took on the picture after Paramount let go of it after Tom Hardy and Channing Tatum dropped out weeks before production was to begin. This was after the picture’s prime advocate, the late Paramount chief Brad Grey, got fired and Paramount’s new management wasn’t eager to make a high-budget topical political thriller that had just lost two big stars.

In the film, loyalties are tested when five friends reunite to take down a South American drug lord, unleashing a chain of unintended consequences.

The script has been a hot commodity in Hollywood with stars such as Will Smith, Tom Hanks & Johnny Depp all circling the project at one point. Filming is underway beginning next week.
