Toy Story 4 Scores Second Best Thursday Night Preview For An Animated Film With $12 Million

Toy Story 4 opened in Thursday night previews yesterday and it’s off to a fantastic start that is sure to put a temporary end to the summer movie bleeding.

Toy Story 4 grossed $12 million last night, which makes it the second-best preview night for an animated movie after the Pixar’s Incredibles 2 ($18.5 million). Toy Story 4 is really setting itself up for a potential opening of at least $160 million, if not more.

Child’s Play got the scares started early last night in Thursday previews with a gross of $1.65 million. This is a start that should ensure an opening weekend of $16-18 million. The gross is higher than Blumhouse/Universal’s Ma which made $1.4 million during its preview night. Child’s Play expands to 3,007 locations today to kick off the weekend.
