Tiny Toon Adventures Reboot Gets Two-Season Series Order At HBO Max & Cartoon Network

The Acme Acres gang is back and headed to college! It has been announced that HBO Max and Cartoon Network has handed out a two-season series order to a Tiny Toon Adventures reboot called Tiny Toons Looniversity.

Tiny Toons Looniversity hails from Amblin Television, Warner Bros. Animation, and returning executive producer Steven Spielberg. The reboot will follow the characters’ comedic ambitions all the way to Acme Looniversity, the esteemed institution of higher high-jinks learning, where young dreamers become professional toons. Here they form long-lasting friendships with one another and perfect their cartoony craft while studying under the greatest cartoon characters in history, The Looney Tunes.  Tom Ascheim, President of Warner Bros. Global Kids, Young Adults, and Classics, had this to say about the new series:

“Tiny Toons Looniversity will capture all the clever, subversive and smart humor that made Tiny Toon Adventures such a standout series. Fans old and new will love to laugh at and with these characters all over again.”

The original Tiny Toon Adventures ran from 1990-1992 and followed the adventures of a group of young cartoon characters who attend Acme Looniverity to become the next generation of characters from the Looney Tunes series. The show was the first collaborative effort of Warner Bros. Animation and Steven Spielberg’s Amblin Entertainment and, oddly enough, the show ended its run in 1992 in favor of their next effort together, Animaniacs.
