The Masked Singer Renewed For Season 5 At Fox

It’s time for more crazy costumes, music & celebrities willing to make fools of themselves. It has been announced that Fox has renewed The Masked Singer for a fifth season. The news arrived just ahead of the semi-finals which aired last night for Fox’s flagship reality competition.

The Masked Singer entered its fourth season as the COVID-19 pandemic made it increasingly difficult for a show like this to move forward. Fox was determined to make season four happen as scheduled because it’s not only their biggest hit but it’s also one of the biggest hits on television. As promised, Fox made the show happen as they followed strict safety protocols and the viewers at home were granted some nice entertainment to distract them from the dread of 2020. The singing competition series in which celebrities don elaborate costumes to showcase their vocal skills has proven to be a runaway hit for Fox. According to the network, Season 4 of the series has averaged 11.5 million viewers per episode in multi-platform viewing to date. Fox has capitalized on the show’s success by launching the sister series I Can See Your Voice, which debuted on the network in September. Another show, The Masked Dancer, will launch on Fox on December 27. Rob Wade, President, Alternative Entertainment and Specials, Fox Entertainment, had this to say about the renewal:

“I’m so happy to announce a new season of The Masked Singer. This show brings joy to so many families across the country, especially during these trying times, and we can’t wait to get even more celebrities suited up in crazy costumes for an hour of pure fun every week.”

Hosted by Nick Cannon and featuring a judging panel that includes Ken Jeong, Jenny McCarthy, Nicole Scherzinger, and Robin Thicke, The Masked Singer will air its fifth season on Fox in 2021
