Madam Secretary Renewed For Season 6 By CBS

Fans have been very vocal about their support of Madam Secretary and now they have been rewarded for standing by the show. CBS has renewed the series for a sixth season.

The series, which recently topped USA Todays’ annual Save Our Shows poll, stars Téa Leoni as Elizabeth McCord, the shrewd, determined secretary of state who drives international diplomacy and circumvents protocol as she negotiates global and domestic issues, both at the White House and at home. The series co-stars Tim Daly, Sara Ramirez, Željko Ivanek, Keith Carradine, Sebastian Arcelus, Patina Miller, Geoffrey Arend, Erich Bergen, Kathrine Herzer, Wallis Currie-Wood and Evan Roe.

Live ratings aren’t great for the fan-favorite political drama and it’s the network’s lowest-rated scripted series. That being said, the show has a sizable syndication and streaming deal in place which made the renewal a lock for the network.
