The Kitchen (Official Trailer)

Melissa McCarthy, Elisabeth Moss & Tiffany Haddish do crime in the trailer for The Kitchen, which has the trio playing Irish mob wives whose husbands are shipped off to prison. If the women don’t take charge of their lives they stand to lose everything. Despite the names involved, this is not a comedy.

The film is the directorial debut of screenwriter Andrea Berloff, who wrote the screenplay for The Kitchen and most notably penned Straight Outta Compton. It’s also based on the graphic novel of the same name by Ollie Masters and Ming Doyle. From the looks of the trailer, McCarthy looks to be in ascended boss mode, and Moss could be the wives’ rising top assassin, with Haddish coming in to change the expectations of everyone who didn’t want her “in the family” in the first place.
