The Exorcist Canceled At FOX

This one stings a bit but it’s official: The Exorcist has been canceled at FOX after two seasons.

The drama starring Alfonso Herrera and Ben Daniels underwent a casting reboot in its second season as the anthology-like series from 20th TV also lost leading lady Geena Davis. Ratings slipped year-over-year but, much like the first season, it was well received by critics and fans alike. I’m not sure what performance they were expecting from the show on Friday nights, which is a pretty dead night for TV, but I guess it wasn’t enough.

The Exorcist was FOX’s lowest-rated series this year, averaging 1.32 million total viewers and a 0.41 rating in the 18-49 demo.
