Homecoming (Official Season 2 Trailer)

Homecoming season 2 is fast approaching and now Amazon has released the full official trailer for the new season and they’re using “Jackie” (Janelle Monae) to preview the newest mystery and what’s to come in season 2.

The new trailer was released via Monae’s Instagram account and it appears her character has taken over her page to give us our first real look at the second season. Jackie comes to in a rowboat adrift a lake, with no memory of how she got there — or even who she is. Her ensuing search for identity will lead her into the heart of the Geist Group, the unconventional wellness company behind the Homecoming Initiative.

The second season also finds Stephan James reprising his role as Walter Cruz, who is trying to build a new life following the traumas of war and the Homecoming Initiative, when he begins to realize that there’s an even more insidious version of the program underway. James is joined by Hong Chau, who returns as Audrey Temple, an anonymous underling at Geist who finds herself thrust into unexpected positions at the top of the corporate ladder.New players joining the fun this season are Chris Cooper as Leonard Geist, the company’s eccentric founder, and Joan Cusack as Francine Bunda, an equally eccentric military woman.

Homecoming season one, based on the podcast of the same name, followed Heidi Bergman (Julia Roberts), who was once a social worker at the Homecoming Transitional Support Center, a live-in facility run by the Geist Group which is a facility used to help soldiers transition to civilian life. Four years later, Bergman has started a new life working as a waitress but has difficulty remembering her time at Homecoming. After a U.S. Department of Defense auditor inquires as to why she left Homecoming, Bergman comes to realize that she had been misled about the true purpose of the facility. Julia Roberts will not be appearing in season 2 but she is still on as an executive producer.

Homecoming season 2 premieres on May 22 on Amazon Prime Video
