Midseason favorite, The 100, has been renewed for a sixth season at The CW.
Last month The CW renewed 10 of its shows which left its midseason slate waiting on their fate. The 100 & iZombie were among those shows & The 100 has been a stronger contender for renewal. It has higher ratings (2.1 million viewers versus the 1.3 million viewers for iZombie) and it has consistently been a solid midseason performer. The network was expected to pick up at least one of its midseason shows since the network will be expanding to Sunday night programming & it looks like iZombie’s fate will be determined by which pilots The CW picks up next week during their upfront presentation.
Based on the book series by Kass Morgan, The 100 has found its characters fighting over four seasons to survive against unimaginable odds, only to see the world end for the second time. Season 5 began six years later, with our heroes still separated: Bellamy’s team in space, Clarke on the ground and hundreds trapped in the bunker below. But when a massive prison ship descends upon the last survivable place on Earth, the 100 must come together to reclaim their home.
The series stars Eliza Taylor, Paige Turco, Bob Morley, Marie Avgeropoulos, Lindsey Morgan, Christopher Larkin, Henry Ian Cusick and Tasya Teles as Echo.
