Roseanne Reboot Could Be Announced By ABC This Week

In a story that has developed very quickly over the past few days, ABC wants to move forward with a second reboot of Roseanne after the show was canceled last week. First reported by TMZ, network executives get into negotiations after Tom Werner, got involved over the weekend in direct talks with top network brass. His involvement has all but sealed the deal for the show to be brought back.

ABC has been exploring the possibility of rebranding the show and focus on Sara Gilbert’s character, Darlene. John Goodman, along with the rest of the cast are  “very interested” in reprising the show.
The only possible snag that may hold this deal is the network may be contractually bound to pay her a fee or back end or both for her participation in creating the show.

ABC is acting fast because the network is trying to desperately trying to salvage the jobs of those affected by ABC’s swift decision to cancel the show. The announcement could come as early as this week.
