Taken Canceled At NBC

It looks like a certain someone’s particular set of skills are no longer needed. NBC has canceled Taken after two seasons.

Taken had been delivering underwhelming ratings in the Friday 9 PM hour, averaging 2 million-3 million viewers and 0.3-0.4 adults 18-49 rating (Live+same day) for the month prior to its dismissal. The show’s Season 2 Live+7 average is 0.7. Taken‘s final episodes will start airing at 8 PM Saturdays starting May 26. The show, which is based on the film franchise featuring Liam Neeson, was revamped for season two but it looks like it did little to bring in new viewers.

The series followed the origin story of younger, hungrier former Green Beret Bryan Mills (Clive Standen) as he deals with a personal tragedy that shakes his world. As Mills fights to overcome the trauma of the incident and exact revenge, he is pulled into a career as a deadly CIA operative, a job that awakens his very particular, and very dangerous, set of skills.

The show is apparently being shopped around to other platforms but I’m not sure there will be much interest in picking it up.
