Sylvester Stallone Teases Creed 2 Could Connect to Rocky IV

One of the best films and theater experiences of 2015 was Ryan Coogler’s Creed. A sequel/reboot to the iconic Rocky franchise which put Rocky in the supporting role and put the son of his foe turned best friend Apollo Creed’s son, Adonis, into the lime light. Every aspect of this film, from performances to directing made it not only one of the best of the year, but one of the best installments in the franchise.

With that being said, little news has been given on the plot of Creed 2. We know it will happen, but when? and what exactly is it going to be about? Sylvester Stallone took to Instagram to shed some light on the sequel. The actor shared on Sunday a photoshopped image of Creed star Michael B. Jordan (who played Adonis Creed, son of the late Apollo Creed in the 2015 film) and Drago actor Dolph Lundgren face-to-face in the ring with Stallone watching from outside the ropes.

“Here’s a chance to stretch your imagination,” Stallone wrote in the caption. “HISTORY WILL ALWAYS REPEAT ITSELF IN ONE FORM OR ANOTHER, JUST GOT TO BE READY! … Sins of the Father…. #creed2.”

In Rocky IV, Drago kills Apollo in the ring, leaving Adonis, without a father. While this is far from confirmation that the plot will be focused on this fight, Sly is not one to post on his social media without meaning. Representatives for Stallone had “nothing to add” when reached for comment along with New Line Cinema and reps for Creed director Ryan Coogler.
