The DC Universe app is set to roll out within the next few weeks and one of the upcoming streaming service’s most anticipated shows is Swamp Thing. Fans of the character should lessen their worries as the show is in good hands.
Len Wiseman, who is associated with shows like Lucifer and Sleepy Hollow has joined the live-action drama, which will debut in 2019. Wiseman will executive produce the drama series and direct the pilot episode.
Swamp Thing is based on DC characters created by Len Wein and Bernie Wrightson. The series’ premise looks at the events that happen when “CDC researcher Abby Arcane returns to her childhood home of Houma, Louisiana, in order to investigate a deadly swamp-borne virus. There, she develops a surprising bond with scientist Alec Holland — only to have him tragically taken from her. But as powerful forces descend on Houma, intent on exploiting the swamp’s mysterious properties for their own purposes, Abby will discover that the swamp holds mystical secrets, both horrifying and wondrous — and the potential love of her life may not be gone after all.”
The show is set to be one of the network’s main attractions in 2019.
