Mary Elizabeth Winstead says Birds of Prey Is Unlike Anything Else In The Superhero Genre

While 2019 had its fair sure of MCU films, DC’s only release in the calendar year is Joker. The film, unlike its recent predecessors is not associated to the DCEU and not only is the film attaining critical acclaim, it looks like it will be a major contender in the Oscar season. In 2020, The DC Extended Universe is continuing to evolve in some pretty interesting directions, and the perfect example will be Birds of Prey (and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn).

The film will follow a team-up between Harley Quinn (Margot Robbie) and some of DC’s most beloved female heroes. One of the films stars,  Mary Elizabeth Winstead, who plays Huntress in the film, recently spoke about what audiences should be prepared for in a new interview with TotalFilm. Winstead stated,

“You can expect something really fun and a bit wild and totally unique.” Winstead revealed. “Every day we were there, we were doing something that just felt really weird and funny and unlike anything else I’ve seen before in this genre. It was incredibly exciting to get to do that. We really got to work. We just played, and we had fun.”

Birds of Prey (and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn) will be released in February of 2020.
