It was about a year ago that we learned a cut of Luca Guadagnino’s Suspiria remake ran for 2 hours & 50 minutes. That’s pretty lengthy no matter how you spin it so obviously cuts would be made. Well, it looks like not much cutting took place because it has been confirmed that the final runtime of the film is 152 minutes (2 hours & 32 minutes).
That’s pretty long, especially for a horror film & it’s not like the original film was that long either. That film clocks in at a slim 92 minutes.
In Suspiria, which stars Dakota Johnson as Susie Bannion, as a darkness builds at the center of a world-renown dance company, its artistic director (Tilda Swinton), a young American new to the troupe (Dakota Johnson), and a grieving psychotherapist (Lutz Ebersdorf) become entangled in a bloody nightmare. The cast also includes Chloe Grace-Moretz, Tilda Swinton, Mia Goth, Sylvie Testud, Angela Winkler, Małgosia Bela and Lutz Ebersdorf.
Suspiria opens on November 2.
