It’s one and done for the spinoff of the hit USA Network show Suits. Pearson has been canceled after one season at the network.
The decision to cancel the series comes a month and a half after the Suits spinoff starring Gina Torres ended its Season 1 run. Pearson centered on her character, powerhouse lawyer Jessica Pearson, as she enters the dirty world of Chicago politics. The show began its life during season 7 of Suits as a backdoor pilot during the season finale.
Despite the main character’s strong following among Suits fans, Pearson, which is darker than the long-running legal drama, was not able to attract wide audiences, ranking as USA’s lowest-rated original scripted series. With Suits having ended its run on the network and the numbers not being there for Pearson, the writing was on the wall for the fate of the series.
