Suicide Squad Among Top Five Most Profitable Summer Movies

Despite the divide by critics and fans, Suicide Squad is the fourth most profitable film of 2016. Earning  $300 million at the domestic box office and nearly $700 million worldwide, the film can now be viewed as a commercial success for Warner Bros and DC. Rounding out the top 5 are Finding DoryCaptain America: Civil War and The Secret Life of Pets. According to Bloomberg, despite offering caution about Hollywood’s reliance on sequels, remakes, and adaptations, the two most profitable films of 2016 were big-budget sequels to movies adapted from other media.
