Spider-Man: Far From Home Is Now The Highest-Grossing Spider-Man Movie Of All Time

As Avengers: Endgame became the highest grossing film of all time this past weekend, another Marvel alum has set its own franchise best. Spider-Man: Far From Home continues to pack in audiences around the world, adding another $21 million to its domestic total just this past weekend despite the records The Lion King broke. In the process, that pushed our favorite web slinger’s global box office to $970 million, making Far From Home the highest-grossing Spider-Man film in history.

Spider-Man: Far From Home has outpaced its immediate predecessor in the MCU Spidey universe, Spider-Man: Homecoming. While that movie picked up the baton from Captain America: Civil War and benefitted from having Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man in a supporting role in the film,  Homecoming topped off at $880 million worldwide.

For years, though, the highest-grossing Spider-Man title actually went to Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man 3, which is ironic because, arguably, that’s the worst entry in a multi-film franchise. The next goal for Far From Home is to become the first Spider-Man film to cross the billion dollar mark.
