Speechless Renewed For Season Three At ABC

ABC has renewed their critically acclaimed comedy Speechless, for a third season. The season three pickup is for a 22 episode order.

Speechless has aired 8:30 PM Wednesdays since its fall 2016 launch. The series on March 21 wrapped its sophomore season, which averaged a 1.4 adults 18-49 (Live+7). The comedy stars Minnie Driver and John Ross Bowie as the parents of JJ (Micah Fowler), who has cerebral palsy, and his siblings Dylan (Kyla Kennedy) and Ray (Mason Clark).

Speechless comes from 20th Century Fox TV, which ABC parent Disney is trying to acquire as part of a group of key 21st Century Fox assets, co-producing with ABC Studios. Rumor has it that this business development was a big reason why Speechless was renewed and with the year three pickup, it’s pretty much a sure thing for future pickups to ensure that it gets a solid syndication deal.
