One of the mainstays of American Horror Story has been Sarah Paulson who has appeared on every season of the anthology series since it began in 2011. Well, it looks like her streak is coming to an end because it’s being reported that Sarah Paulson will not appear in a significant role, if at all, for American Horror Story: 1984.
If anything, Paulson may appear in a cameo capacity but even that isn’t certain. The least she has appeared on the series was way back in season 1 where she was only featured in three episodes. American Horror Story is partly responsible for the surge in Paulson’s career and it has brought her widespread acclaim. Since appearing on the series, the actress has secured five Emmy nominations from her various roles on the show. She won the Emmy for her role in the first season of American Crime Story, which was executive produced by AHS maestro, Ryan Murphy.
To be fair, Paulson is very busy at the moment. She is currently filming the upcoming FX series Mrs. America about the ratification of the Equal Rights Amendment. She is also continuing to work with Ryan Murphy on his Netflix series Ratched, which tells the origin story of Nurse Ratchet from One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest. The series received a two-season commitment from the streamer. On the film side of things, Paulson will star in Run for Lionsgate, The Goldfinch and lend her voice to the animated film, Abominable.
Another AHS mainstay, Evan Peters, who has also appeared on the show since season 1, will also not be returning this season so things are going to be a little different this time around. American Horror Story: 1984 is set to premiere on September 18 and while little is known about it, the teaser looks heavily influenced the slasher movies of the 1980s.
