Sony Moves Release Dates For Ghostbusters: Afterlife,Morbius And More

It was only a matter of time before Sony pulled the plug on some of their releases; however, Sony’s moves show that they are thinking of the future and the ghost town that is Q1 and Q2 of 2021. The new release dates are not only the result of the current coronavirus outbreak, but the lack of production is leaving early 2021 bare of film releases and Sony has set themself up nicely for a good start to next year.

The films being moved include my number 1 anticipated film of 2020, Ghostbusters: Afterlife, which has been moved to March 5, 2021, from its original July 10 release date. Another film that was moved was the Sony/Marvel pic Morbius which will now be released on March 19, 2021, as opposed to its original July 31st release date.

Alongside those two huge moves, Tom Hanks World War II Pic Greyhound has been pushed to a TBD date from its original June 12 premiere while the Kevin Hart pic Fatherhood will now hit theaters on October 23 instead of January 15, 2021.

As long as we are in this pandemic, it’s safe to say cinephiles are going to lose many, if not all of the summer blockbuster season releases.
