Sam Claflin is reteaming with his Hunger Games co-star Elizabeth Banks. The actor is set to join the Charlie’s Angels’ reboot that is being helmed by Banks and they will share the screen in the film as Banks is also playing one of the Bosley characters in the movie. Patrick Stewart and Djimon Hounsou will be playing the other two Bosleys.
No word on who Claflin will actually be playing but he joins Kristen Stewart, Naomi Scott, and Ella Balinska who will be starring as the titular characters. It was recently announced that Jonathan Tucker and Luis Gerardo Mendez have also joined the cast.
The new take on Charlie’s Angels’ will focus on the next generation of Angels working for the mysterious Charlie. The Townsend Agency has grown considerably and gone global, providing security and intelligence services to a wide variety of private clients.
Claflin recently starred opposite Shailene Woodley in Adrift and was also seen in Jennifer Kent’s The Nightingale, which premiered at the Toronto Film Festival and earned him some of the best reviews of his career.
Charlie’s Angels’ is slated for a September 27, 2019 release.
