Paramount Pictures has released the new trailer for the upcoming Elton John biopic, Rocketman, and it looks like it plans on being a crowd pleaser in the same way that Bohemian Rhapsody dazzled fans of Queen and moviegoers alike.
Starring Taron Egerton as the legendary singer, the film will focus on Elton John’s early beginnings, starting when he was a prodigy at the Royal Academy of Music and carrying over to when he reached global stardom through his influential and enduring musical partnership with his songwriting collaborator Bernie Taupin.
Dexter Fletcher is helming the project and he previously directed Egerton in Eddie the Eagle but he’s more recently known for stepping in to finish the last two weeks of filming on Bohemian Rhapsody after Bryan Singer was fired from the project.
Co-starring Jamie Bell, Richard Madden, and Bryce Dallas Howard, Rocketman hits screens on May 31. Check out the film’s new poster below:
