Amazon Rumored To Make $9 Billion Offer On MGM

One of Hollywood’s most historic studios may have a buyer!

Variety has reported that Amazon is in negotiations on a  deal to acquire MGM for a reported 9 billion dollars. The deal is said to be worked on by Mike Hopkins, senior VP of Amazon Studios and Prime Video,  directly with  MGM board chairman Kevin Ulrich.

News of the Amazon talks with MGM begin this past weekend and the information reported on Monday confirmed that the deal could run between 7-10 billion. Those unaware, MGM owns one of the “deepest libraries” of film and content.

Its 4,000 films include James Bond, The Hobbit, Rocky/Creed, Robocop, and The Silence of the Lambs. For the first three months of 2021, MGM holdings reported revenue of 403.3 million dollars.
