The Goldbergs aired the episode that was to serve as a potential spinoff for the series, and it put up some pretty solid numbers for ABC.
The ABC comedy scored a 1.7 rating in the 18-49 demo and 6.06 million viewers, even with last week and tying its second-best mark of the season.It also lead the night in the 18-49 demo for scripted programming. The first of two American Housewife episodes drew a 1.4 demo rating and 5.32 million viewers, tying its second-highest of the season; the second, following a Modern Family rerun, was a bit below average at a 1.1 demo rating and 4.16 million viewers.
On CBS, Criminal Minds fell a tenth of a point to a 0.9 demo rating and 5.23 million viewers. On The CW, Riverdale (0.5, 1.38 million viewers) and Dynasty (0.2, 560,000 viewers) held steady.
On FOX, The X-Files (1.0, 3.86 million viewers,-0.1) and 9-1-1 (1.6, 6.43 million viewers -0.2) also declined, although 9-1-1 was the No. 2 show on the night and continued to build on its lead-in for the third week in a row.
NBC aired a night of reruns.
