The Grey’s Anatomy spinoff Station 19 premiered last night and while it didn’t crash and burn, it didn’t exactly set the ratings on fire either.
The series averaged a 1.2 rating among adults 18-49 for its two-hour premiere, tying a double shot of NBC’s Chicago Fire in the demographic. Fire had more total viewers, averaging 6.88 million over the two hours to Station 19’s 5.42 million. Some suspect NBC for airing the two-part Chicago Fire on purpose since both shows deal with firefighters and if that was the case, NBC has won round one. The news was good for Grey’s Anatomy which rose a tenth to a 1.9 demo rating and 7.49 million viewers.
On NBC, Superstore was also up a tenth at a 1.1 demo rating and 3.88 million viewers, but AP Bio (0.7, 2.87 million viewers) came down 0.1 from last week’s fast nationals and 0.2 from the finals.
On FOX, Gotham was up a tenth week to week with a 0.7 demo rating and 2.44 million viewers.
