Reel TV Ratings: (Monday) -Despite Slight NFL Inflation, The Good Doctor Remains The Top Choice For Scripted Programming On Mondays

ABC can still retain bragging rights for having the best performing new drama of the fall season as The Good Doctor continues to shine.

Even if the show comes down a little in the finals due to a Monday Night Football pre-emption, The Good Doctor’s current 1.9 18-49 demo rating and 10.34 million viewers make it the highest-rated scripted series of the night by a wide margin. Also, even though total viewers don’t factor as much as the demo rating, it should be noted that the series hasn’t dropped below 10 million viewers. This is an impressive feat for a series airing at 10 PM on Monday night.

On FOX, Lucifer fell a tenth to a 0.9 demo rating and 3.28 million viewers, while The Gifted (0.9, 2.92 million viewers) is even with last week’s early numbers (it adjusted up in the finals). Supergirl (0.5, 1.91 million viewers) and Valor (0.2, 1.04 million viewers) held steady for The CW. It’s interesting that Supergirl has maintained this impressive 0.5 demo rating since it’s premiere this year which matches it with its parent show, Arrow, and it has frequently bested that series in total viewers as well this season.

At first glance, the CBS Monday lineup looks like it has improved but it was heavily inflated due to a football pre-emption as well. For now things look ok but expect some adjustments down in the finals. Kevin Can Wait (currently 1.4, 6.74 million viewers) and Man with a Plan (1.2, 5.96 million viewers pending updates) are the most likely candidates on CBS to adjust down in the finals. The rest of the lineup should be fairly accurate with Superior Donuts hitting a 1.0 demo rating and 5.18 million viewers, followed by 9JKL with a 0.8 demo score and 4.41 million viewers. Their night ended with a steady Scorpion hitting a 0.9 demo rating and 5.04 million viewers.

On NBC, The Brave was down a tenth week to week with a 0.9 demo rating and 4.72 million viewers.
