Reel TV Ratings: (Friday) – Agents Of Shield Steady On By The Numbers Friday Night

Friday night ratings are never too exciting and this week was no different. Shows were pretty much steady with their weekly performance.

On ABC, Agents of Shield held steady week to week with a 0.6 demo rating and 2.4 million viewers. I think if it maintains a demo in this range on Friday nights, it should be ok for renewal. The show has survived due to the Marvel connection, it’s owned in studio and it’s a solid DVR performer. Live ratings, especially on a Friday night, is just part of the renewal puzzle.

On NBC, Taken wasn’t able to climb any higher in the ratings this following its already low season 2 premiere last week. The NBC series maintained its previous 0.5 rating in adults 18-49 and 2.99 million viewers. Similarly, Blindspot managed to hold steady with a 0.7 demo rating and 3.55 million viewers. The difference between the two series is that Blindspot hovered with this demo rating last season on a more competitive night and has maintained that with the Friday move. The fans have followed the show and that hasn’t seemed to be the case with Taken since it’s down significantly, even for Friday.

As usual, CBS raked in the two highest ratings of the night, with both MacGyver (1.0, 7.7 million viewers) and Hawaii Five-O (1.0, 9.07 million viewers) staying steady for the second week in a row. However, Blue Bloods did dip one-tenth from a 1.0 to a 0.9 demo rating and 9.35 million viewers this time around on the network.
