Catherine Zeta-Jones made the rounds doing publicity for her new Lifetime movie, Cocaine Godmother: The Griselda Blanco Story, and it definitely paid off for the network.
Keep in mind the TV movie aired on a Saturday night and the curve on that night is much different from other nights, especially on cable. The movie pulled a strong 0.5 demo rating in the 18-49 and 1.85 million viewers. Seems minuscule but it’s actually good for Lifetime and it outperformed their last original TV movie (A Tale of Two Coreys did 885,000 total viewers and a 0.3 demo rating on January 6).
Catherine Zeta-Jones is an early lock for some Emmy, Golden Globe and SAG attention in the TV Movie or Limited Series categories so that should be the ultimate payoff for the actress.
