Reel TV Ratings: The Assassination of Gianni Versace Dips, Waco Premieres Decent For New Paramount Network

FX took a bit of a hit with the second week of The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story while the newly rebranded Paramount Network saw OK numbers from its Waco limited series.

Versace dipped 40% to a 0.4 demo rating in the 18-49 and 1.42 million viewers.  The demo drop is actually better than the second week of The People v. O.J. Simpson which fell 5 tenths in comparison to Versace’s 3 tenths. O.J. did start higher with a 2.0 demo rating but it’s a bigger story in pop culture and I’m sure FX was well aware of this fact.

Meanwhile, on The Paramount Network, Waco premiered to a 0.4 demo rating and 1.1 million viewers. That’s not a bad start for the newly rebranded cable network and only time will tell what their base level of success is, but this represents a pretty promising start if it can maintain these numbers next week.
